Owen Sound Police Execute Multiple Search Warrants

A man and woman from Owen Sound appear in court Thursday to face weapons and drug charges.

The Owen Sound Police Service executed search warrants at two west side residences Wednesday afternoon.  The warrants were a result of an ongoing criminal investigation into a break and enter last November.

During the search, police recovered stolen property, three stun gun, brass knuckles, as well as a small quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana.

A 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested during the search.

They face charges of break, enter and theft, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. They were held for bail hearings on Thursday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
