Hawks Shut Out Flyers to Tie Quarter Final Series

Derek Elliot had a hat trick and set up one more as the Mitchell Hawks shut out the Goderich Flyers 9-0 to tie their PJHL Pollock Division quarter final series at a game a piece.

Wyatt Nicholson earned the win with 24 saves.

Nathan Watson stopped 26 of 34 shots before being replaced in the third by Branden Bean who allowed one goal on 5 shots in relief.

Chace Duckworth had a pair of goals and an assist for the Hawks. Blake Pickering also picked up three points with a goal an two assists and Quinten Haddock set up three of the Hawks goals.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series goes Friday night in Mitchell.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
