Bluewater District Director Of Education Resigns

The Bluewater District School Board has announced the resignation of Director of Education Steve Blake.

Blake has accepted the position of director of education at Simcoe County District School Board, effective March 20.

"I am very thankful for the experience of being Bluewater’s director of education," says Blake in a news release. "The board has worked extremely hard tackling some difficult challenges in order to direct as much money as possible into exemplary programming for students. I am proud to have served a school board that cares so deeply about the success of its students."

Board Chair Ron Motz says it was with mixed emotions that they accept Blake's resignation.

"We are very thankful for his strong leadership and continued commitment working with the Board of Trustees to create a more sustainable path forward in Bluewater for the benefit of all our students. While we are sad to see him leave, we extend our congratulations and wish him every success as he pursues an exciting new phase in his career," says Motz.

The board will provide information in regard to a new director of education when details become available.
