Grey County Among Top Seven Global Intelligent Communities

Grey County has been named one of the top seven intelligent communities in the world by an international network of cities and regions known as the Intelligent Community Forum.

The organization focuses on how communities use technology to enhance economic development and quality of life.

Grey Warden Al Barfoot says it's great recognition.

"To hear the announcement that we've made the top seven in the world is certainly very exciting news for us. This will put Grey County on the map," says Barfoot.

The top seven announcement is the second stage of the Intelligent Community Forum Awards.

The final stage of naming the Intelligent Community of the year will happen in New York City in June. Barfoot hopes to be there.

Other communities in the top seven are:

Chiayi City, Taiwan Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Ipswich, Queensland, Australia Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Moscow, Russia Taoyuan, Taiwan
