PJHL Wrap-up: Exeter, Hanover, Mitchell Earn Wins

Exeter 3 Thamesford 0

The Exeter Hawks blanked Thamesford 3-0 to take a 2-0 lead in their Yeck Division Quarter Final series.

Liam Melady led the scoring for the Hawks with a pair of goals.

Dane Gubbels earned the win with 47 saves. Mitchell Van Eindhoven made 36 saves for Thamesford.

Justin McCarter also scored for the Hawks.

Hanover 4 Kincardine 3

Colton Culbert's power play goal at 13:41 of the third was the game winner as the Hanover Barons edged Kincardine 4-3.

The Barons now lead their Pollock Division series 3-2.

Jarrett Kuntz led the Barons offense with a pair of goals and an assist.

Brodie LeMay scored and set up two more to also pick up three points.

Braeden Ellis made 21 saves in the win.

Mitchell 6 Goderich 2

The Mitchell Hawks were 5-for-8 on the power play as they topped the Goderich Flyers 6-2 to lead their Pollock Division Quarter Final series 3-1.

Derek Elliot struck twice for the Hawks. Jamie Shoemaker and Blake Pickering each scored and had an assist in the win.

Graeme Lauersen stopped 19 shots for Mitchell. Nathan Watson made 33 saves for the Flyers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
