McNiven Ties Franchise Record, Named Player of the Week

The Owen Sound Attack named netminder Michael McNiven the Huron Tractor Player of the Week.

McNiven stopped 55 of 57 shots over 120 minutes of work during Week 20 of the OHL season.

McNiven is now 29-8-11 this season with a GAA of 2.21 and a save percentage of .919.

The 19-year-old Georgetown native backstopped the Attack to a 5-2 win over Hamilton and a 5-0 shut out of Kingston.

Sunday's shut out was McNiven's tenth of his career, tying Jordan Binnington for most in franchise history.

McNiven and Curtis Sanford are tied for 2nd all-time in wins in the franchise.

Owen Sound is back in action Wednesday night when they welcome the Flint Firebirds to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Puck drops at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
