Mount Forest Residents Want Safer Crosswalks

Several Mount Forest residents are concerned with the difficulty in crossing Mount Forest’s Main St., particularly at Main and King streets.

They are asking for a "flashing crosswalk" before there is a serious accident.

Wellington North council has agreed to look into the possibility of painting crossing lines on the road.

However, Mayor Andy Lennox cautions that it could be difficult, because the main streets are also provincial highways.

Several councillors mentioned a number of other intersections in Mount Forest and Arthur that are equally problematic.
