Hawks Win To Take Decisive 3-1 Series Lead

Christian Petrozza scored the game winner midway through the third as the Exeter Hawks edged Thamesford 3-2 to take a 3-1 series lead in their Yeck Division Quarter Final series.

Macgregor Allen opened the scoring for the Hawks at 7:12 of the first. Garrett Hickey and Matthew Smallman scored for the Trojans in the second, giving Thamesford a 2-1 lead going into the third.

Ray Robbins scored on the power play to tie the game before Petrozza fired the game winner shorthanded and unassisted.

Dane Gubbels earned the win with 31 saves. Mitchell Van Eindhoven made 36 saves in defeat.

The Hawks could advance to the semi finals with a win at home Friday night. Puck drops at the South Huron Rec Centre at 8pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
