Seven Rushed To Hospital After Stratford-area Collision

Seven people were taken to hospital following a crash involving a vehicle and a Perth County ambulance Monday afternoon.   It happened at the intersection of Perth Line 29 and Perth Road 112, southeast of Stratford.

The ambulance and two paramedics were transporting a patient when it collided with a car, which contained four people.  The injured paramedics were able to assist those who were hurt until additional crews arrived.

All seven people involved were taken by other ambulances to hospital with various injuries.  Two of the occupants of the car remain in critical but stable condition.

The intersection was closed for several hours so the OPP's Technical Collision Investigators could continue with their investigation. It reopened around 9:00 p.m.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man from Waterloo, has been charged with Fail To Yield To Traffic on a Through Highway.
