Goderich Offers Draft Agreement To Potter Event Organizers

Goderich staff has prepared a tentative agreement with the organizers of a Harry Potter event scheduled to take place in the town this October.

Clerk Dwayne Evans says there's a lot of planning involved in bringing an estimated 9,000 people into town for the weekend, and they want to make sure that planning is done properly.

A response to the draft agreement is expected to be presented at the March 6 council meeting and a final agreement worked out by the end of March.

Evans says the municipality essentially wants to know what organizers are doing to handle things like parking, accommodation, washroom facilities and garbage.

He adds bringing that many people to Goderich is huge, so there are some logistical things that have to be addressed to make it work.
