Rifle, Hunting Gear Stolen From Vehicle Near Clinton

Police are investigating after a rifle and hunting gear were stolen from a truck west of Clinton.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Sunday around 1:15pm, two hunters heard their vehicle alarm sounding on Maitland Line, and returned to find the rear window smashed and a number of items stolen. A light blue, larger model sports utility vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.

The following items were reported stolen from the vehicle:

  • A Savage Model 10 Predator .243 Calibre bolt action rifle. The rifle was secured with a combination trigger lock and it was stored in a soft gun case.
  • A camo style Browning backpack
  • Two Cabela's brand Northern shotgun cases
  • A Coleman shotgun case
  • A Rocky brand camo sweater
  • A Carlson's shotgun choke
  • Duck calls
  • Rabbit Decoys
  • Various types of ammunition

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
