More Rooftop Solar Installations For Minto

Minto has approved the second phase of a solar panels project on municipal properties.

A private company is installing the panels in locations such as arena roofs and the municipal garage, at no cost to the municipality.

Minto earlier signed an agreement for nine smaller panels which pay the municipality $9,000 a year. The second phase will generate an additional $31,000 per year.

The contract goes for 20 years and then the panels become the property of the municipality.
