Minor Flooding Possible In Local Watersheds

Heavy rainfall Tuesday evening and Wednesday could mean higher than normal water levels in watercourses in local watersheds.

Current forecasts suggest the area could receive up to 30 mm of rain, with possible higher amounts in isolated thunderstorms.

Although major flooding is not anticipated, rain and runoff will add to already elevated streamflows. The precipitation would create bank-full conditions in streams and rivers, and minor flooding in low lying areas Wednesday.

Flows are expected to peak in the smaller waterways tomorrow, with larger watercourses peaking into Thursday.

Residents should avoid the slippery unstable stream banks.
