Patriots Force Game 7

The Mount Forest Patriots refuse to go quietly. The Patriots rebounded from a three game series deficit to win three games in a row, including last night's 6-5 overtime victory over Mitchell,  to force a deciding Game 7 in their PJHL Pollock Division Semi Final.

The Patriot's Ryan Maksymyk scored the equalizer on the power play with an extra attacker on the ice with just 42 seconds left regulation to force overtime.  Troy Oakley scored the game winner on the power play at 17:42 of the extra frame. It was Oakley's second goal of the back-and-forth affair. He also had an assist for Mount Forest.

The Hawks were led by Jamie Shoemaker with a pair of goals and Derek Elliot who scored and had an assist. Nick Jung set up two for Mitchell.

Mathieu Oullette earned the win with 47 saves over more than 77 minutes of work. Graeme Lauersen stopped 42 shots before being replaced just under five minutes into overtime by Wyatt Nicholson.

Game 7 goes tonight at 8:15 p.m. in Mitchell.
