That's higher than Ontario's jobless rate which sits at 6.2%, up from 6%.
January's local jobless rate was 5.2%
In February, employment in the Stratford to Bruce Peninsula region decreased by 2,200, including 1,400 full time positions.
Agriculture and construction represented the majority of job losses.

Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
