Cargill Branch Library To Stay Open, Hours Restored

Users of the Cargill branch of the Bruce County Public Library have had their voices heard.

The County Library Board has announced that as of March 28, the Cargill branch will expand its hours from nine to 15 hours a week.

A staff report recommended that the library board keep the Cargill branch open and reinstate the hours removed a year ago.

The recommendation took into account the input from local residents and the efforts that had been made by the community to encourage use of the Cargill branch.

The board will continue to monitor activity at the branch.

As of March 28 the Cargill branch library hours will be: Tuesday: 3pm-7pm Thursday: 10am-2pm Friday: 10am-2pm Saturday: 10am-1pm

Melissa Legacy, director of library services for Bruce County, stated "We look forward to continuing to provide library service to the residents of Cargill and hope to see increased use of the library. It is important for residents of small rural communities to have the opportunity to stay connected through the various services the library offers."
