The largest outdoor Maple Syrup Festival in Grey and Bruce Counties is just days away.
It’s the annual Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival this Saturday and Sunday at Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area, just north of Paisley off Bruce Rd. #3.
There's a bigger pioneer encampment this year, along with horse-drawn wagon rides, train rides, maple games, and the famous hot-off the grill pancakes and maple syrup.
Other features include HDTV's Wood Carver Kings, the Grey-Bruce Tree Workers, and 4-Paws Flying Entertainment Dog Shows.
For those travelling from Southampton or Port Elgin, you can take the new S.S. Trolley. It's only $1 per adult to ride in style, and it's sponsored by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.
There is free bus transportation from Paisley for both days. Visitors on both the trolley and buses will be taken directly into the event and taken back to their pick-up locations afterwards.
The Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area is open from 10am to 4pm both days. Admission is $8 per adult, $3 per child and pre-schoolers are free.
All proceeds from the weekend go to local conservation efforts by both the Saugeen Valley Conservation Foundation and Saugeen Conservation.
