Wellington North Takes Ownership Of Former Blacksmith Shop

A committee working to restore a blacksmith shop in Kenilworth got the answer it wanted to hear from Wellington North council Monday night.

The estate of the late Dr. Frank Lynes has offered to give a former blacksmith shop to the community for free.

But the committee working to make that happen needed Wellington North council to take title to the property, which includes the blacksmith shop that has been untouched since the 1950s.

Spokesperson Kate Rowley says her group is delighted that Wellington North has agreed to partner on the project.
