Shore Clean Up In Goderich Today

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is hosting a clean-up of the three Goderich beaches and the mouth of the Maitland River today.

Coastal Outreach Specialist Rhiannon Moore says they do several beach clean-ups every year and this is the first one this year.

She adds they need to do several every year because the lake continues to spit up debris, and in particular, plastic waste, but the first one of the year is often the biggest.

She says volunteers should show up at picnic shelter #2, across from the Beach Street Restaurant or if they want to help with Maitland River clean-up they should show up at the foot of the Menesetung by the lock.

Both clean-ups start at eleven o'clock Saturday morning and Zehrs is providing a free barbecue lunch.
