SIU Takes Over Investigation Into ATV Crash In Hanover

One man is in critical condition in hospital in London after a crash in Hanover on Saturday night.

Hanover Police received a call just before 10pm Saturday of a man operating an ATV without lights on in front of his property in the area of 12th St. and 10th Ave.

As Hanover officers located the ATV, it collided with a vehicle at the intersection of 6th Ave. and 10th St.   The vehicle then struck a nearby parked car.

A 26-year-old man (Corrected from Hanover Police Release that said 36) who was driving the ATV was rushed to Hanover Hospital, and later airlifted to London.   He underwent surgery, but remains in critical condition in hospital in London.

The province's Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate, and has taken over the investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
