Attempted Murder In Stratford Under Investigation

A 26-year-old man is facing an attempted murder charge after a stabbing at a Stratford home.

O Thursday around 1pm, Stratford police responded to a report that a male had been stabbed at a residence on Mowat St. Upon entering the home, officers arrested a 26-year-old man, and extinguished a small fire in the residence.

The victim was rushed to Stratford General Hospital and was later to London for medical treatment. The seriousness of his injuries is unknown at this time.

Stratford police say there was no threat to surrounding residences or the public.

The 26-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, arson, obstructing police and breach of probation. He was in court Friday morning for a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
