Goderich Council To Discuss Harry Potter Event This Month

Town staff in Goderich continue to meet with organizers of October's Harry Potter Weekend to work out details.

CAO Larry McCabe explains there are seven or eight conditions, including security and a letter of credit, that have to be met in time for the April 24 council meeting.  Council will discuss compliance with the agreement at that meeting.

McCabe points out the biggest challenge for the town is accommodating the more than 9,000 people that are expected.

The issues range from providing food for that many people to things like traffic flow, who volunteers for the parking, and how streets are blocked off to name a few.

McCabe adds it has to the potential to be an amazing event for the town, but they're going to have to be prepared for it.
