St. Marys Woman Faces Charge Of Attempted Murder

Perth County OPP have charged a 56-year-old woman with attempted murder.

On Tuesday morning, police received a call about shots fired at a rural home on Perth Line 6 in Perth South.

An investigation revealed that several shots had been fired at various locations on the property and a lone resident was home at the time. There were no reported injuries.

A female was located and arrested shortly after without incident. The complainant and the accused are known to each other.

Joan Clarke, 56, of St Marys has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

She is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing on Wednesday in Stratford.

Police are still investigating.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
