Markdale Hospital Information Meeting Wednesday

Grey Bruce Health Services is hosting a public information session in Markdale Wednesday evening.

There will be a progress update on the plans for the new hospital.

Health Services representatives will also share information on a recommendation to make changes to the elective day surgery program that's currently offered in four of the six hospital sites.

The GBHS board of directors is considering moving all day surgeries to Owen Sound, ending the service in Markdale, Meaford, and Southampton.

Elective day surgery is not part of the plan for the new Markdale hospital.

The public information meeting is Wednesday evening at 7pm at Annesley United Church in Markdale.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
