Central Huron Approves 2017 Budget

Central Huron council has approved its budget for 2017.

Mayor Jim Ginn says the municipality will increase spending by 2.85 this year but that will be partially offset by assessment. Ginn explains they are going to take on a little debt this year to get important infrastructure work done now while prices are reasonable and he also points out the solar panels on the roof of the Arena and the Reach Centre will be paid for shortly so that money will be freed up.

Ginn says the end result is the tax rate is actually down a little for this year.
