Huron OPP Charge Over 100 People In Easter Weekend Campaign

Huron County OPP laid 137 charges during their Easter Weekend Seatbelt Campaign.

OPP charged nine drivers with seatbelt offences between April 14 and April 17. A conviction carries a $240 fine and two demerit points.

Another 100 drivers were charged with speeding. And 17 drivers face various charges under the Highway Traffic Act, including ten for Liquor Licence Act violations, two distracted driving offences, and three warn range suspensions.

Huron County OPP also investigated a total of nine motor vehicle collisions during the campaign, one of which a driver sustained minor injuries.
