Water Pipe Leak Damages Owen Sound Hospital

Damage from a water pipe leak in one section of the Owen Sound Hospital is still being assessed.

The leak on the seventh floor of the hospital was the source of significant water damage the evening of April 20.

There was damage to a number of rooms on the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh floors.  Nine medical and surgical patients were relocated to other areas.  The Sleep Lab was closed for a period of time.

The overall impact on hospital operations was limited despite the occupancy level being high at the time.

Grey Bruce Health Services says repair work continues, and the total cost is unknown.
