Search Ongoing For Sebringville Man Missing Since December

Police are continuing their search for a Sebringville man, who has been missing for almost four months.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police say the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and an OPP canine unit continued their search on Thursday for 51-year-old Derek Ritz. Officers conducted a planned ground search on a mixed bush type property located south of Sebringville, close to Perth Rd. 130 and Line 34.

The Underwater Search and Recovery Unit is expected to continue searching the same area Friday morning.

Ritz was last seen in the Avonton Rd. area in Sebringville on December 31, 2016.

He is described as 5'11" tall, 170 lbs with brown shoulder length hair. Ritz was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark colored shirt and a dark coloured leather motorcycle jacket.

Anyone with information regarding Ritz's whereabouts is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
