Owen Sound Man Assaulted Over Money

A 26-year-old man has been charged with assault with bodily harm following a dispute over a loan.

Owen Sound Police say they were called to a residence on 2nd Ave E on Friday night on a report of two men fighting.  The 44-year-old victim had significant injuries to his face and head when officers arrived.

The victim told police he had lent money to the suspect a month ago but the suspect had not repaid him despite several requests to do so.  The two had argued in an Owen Sound bar earlier Friday but they had parted ways and met up at the 2nd Ave house later.

The suspect, identified as Cody Quick, is originally from the Niagara region.  In addition to the assault charge, Quick is also charged with failure to comply with a probation order and making utter threats.  He was presented via audio Saturday before a bail court in London and will appear in the Owen Sound Court of Justice Monday.
