Rainfall Warning in Midwestern Ontario

Forecasters are expecting steady, perhaps heavy rain in Midwestern Ontario Sunday and Monday.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Bruce Peninsula for Sunday, as well as the following regions:

  • Bruce Peninsula - Sauble Beach - Tobermory
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County
Heavy rainfall is expected in this region through Monday.  Rainfall amounts between 40mm and 60mm are anticipated before the rain diminishes Monday, according to the weather agency.  The rain is not expected to be a continuous soak but heavier rounds of rain may be embedded in thunderstorms.  Up to 75mm of rain may be possible in a few specific areas.

A special weather statement, separate from the rainfall warning, remains in effect for the following areas:

  • Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County
  • Goderich - Bluewater - Southern Huron County
  • Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
Heavy rain is still possible with this system in these areas, though total rainfall may be significantly less.
