Huron Hospice Hike on Sunday

The Huron County Residential Hospice Steering Committee is launching its fund-raising campaign on Sunday.

Their first project is two hikes, leaving from the Stanley Recreation Complex in Varna.

Hikers have their choice of a one kilometre, or two and a half kilometre hike. Registration starts at 11:30 at the Varna Complex, with the hikes starting at 12:30.

Spokesperson Sara Baker says they will also be making a presentation explaining what residential hospice is all about and their fund-raising campaign.

The house that has been chosen for the Huron Residential Hospice is located across from the Woodlands Golf Course on highway 8.

Baker says they have a lot of fund-raising to do, but the community recognizes the need and support has been amazing.
