Midwestern Ontario Under Frost Advisory

Within a week, Midwestern Ontario goes from soaking rain to frost and freeze.

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Sunday into Monday morning for the following areas:

  • Bruce Peninsula - Sauble Beach - Tobermory
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County
  • Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Goderich - Bluewater - Southern Huron County
  • Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County
  • Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  • Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
The weather agency says an unseasonably cold air mass is settling over the region.  Temperatures are expected to fall to the freezing mark or below the freezing mark in some areas.  These conditions are conducive to the forming of frost by Monday morning.

Frost may cause damage to plants and crops in affected areas.  Plants should either be covered or brought indoors Sunday evening.

Temperatures are expected to climb back above the freezing mark Monday morning.
