Meaford Scarecrows To 'Support Our Troops'

Volunteers with Meaford’s Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival will be wearing bright red shirts during their annual parade in September.

The shirts are being donated to the Invasion by directors of the Military Families Resource Centre. The shirts carry the message "Support Our Troops."

Resource Centre Executive Director Cindy Lewin says the directors voted to donate the shirts in recognition of the support the Armed Forces members and their families receive from the Meaford community.

Head Scarecrow Marilyn Morris says she couldn’t think of anyone better to be honoured during Canada’s 150th birthday than the soldiers at the military base in Meaford.
