Building Boom Continues In North Perth

The record-setting building activity in North Perth in 2016 is continuing.

Between January 1 and April 30 of this year, North Perth issued 110 building permits, with 50 new dwelling units created.  That's compared to 92 permits and 34 new dwelling units created during the same time last year.

April was an especially busy month for building, with 52 permits issued.  Just under half of those permits were for new residential builds.

Thirty seven building permits were issued in April of last year.

The increase in quarterly building is more noticeable when permit values are compared:

  • In the first quarter of 2017, the value of the 110 building permits issued was almost $23-million.
  • In the first quarter of 2016, the value of the 92 building permits issued was almost $11.8-million.
