West Grey Woman Killed In Crash Near Moorefield

The woman who died in a two-vehicle crash near Moorefield Tuesday night has been identified by the OPP.

Brenda Jones, 69, of West Grey Township was a passenger in a minivan that was hit by a pickup truck around 10pm Tuesday night.  It happened at the intersection of Wellington Rd. 9 and Concession Rd. 6 of Mapleton Township.

The man driving the minivan remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries, and taken to hospital for further tests.

The intersection re-opened Wednesday morning.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are still trying to gather details.  Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
