Perth County OPP Lay Hundreds Of Charges During Road Safety Blitz

Perth County OPP laid hundreds of charges during Canada Road Safety Week.

Between May 16 and 22, Perth OPP officers focused on the Big Four factors related to motor vehicle collision fatalities.

Charges laid include four impaired driving, seven distracted driving, 219 speeding, three racing, three careless driving, 15 seatbelt and 11 counts of failing to yield.

The OPP say officers will continue to conduct traffic enforcement on local roads and highways to ensure safety for all citizens.

"I encourage all drivers to practice safe driving habits and recognize the hard work by our officers to work cooperatively in an effort to reduce motor vehicle collisions on our highways," says Inspector Rob Scott.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
