Wellington County OPP Arrest Fergus Youth For Armed Robbery

Wellington County OPP have arrested a 14-year-old Fergus youth in connection with a robbery involving students from Centre Wellington District High School.

On May 15, OPP responded to a report that a youth had brought a firearm to the school. An investigation revealed the weapon in question was a black pellet gun which resembles a semi-automatic pistol. Police say an altercation occurred between two young male students at the school, which resulted in one of them pulling out the air pistol and robbing the other student. The robbery occurred off of school property.

Wellington County OPP were able to later locate and seize the pellet gun.

A 14 year-old male from Fergus is now charged with robbery using a firearm and using an imitation firearm while committing an offence. He was arrested and held for bail court May 23.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
