Cross Walk Ideas For Wellington North

Wellington North council likes the idea of standardizing crosswalks for pedestrians, particularly children.

Wellington County’s Safe Communities Committee is proposing new signage and road painting for crossovers, including student crossovers. But most of Wellington North’s student crossovers are on provincial highway connecting links.

And so far no agreement has been made with the province.

Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox says any change in Wellington North will have to await an agreement with the province.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
