Planned June Start For Goderich Hotel Construction

Construction on a new hotel in Goderich is expected to start in June.

The site plan for the new Comfort Inn was approved at this week's council meeting.

Mayor Kevin Morrison says it's a lot of effort over two years to get to this point. The 60-room hotel will be built on the former Victoria Public School property and the expectation is it will be ready for visitors in the summer of 2018.

"That's the plan," says Morrison. "And certainly engineers with what they have in place as well support that. It's a good fit for the community that we are."

The Comfort Inn in Goderich will also have a conference room that will accommodate 250 people.
