Driver Killed In Transport Truck Crash Near Chatsworth

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash involving a transport truck south of Chatsworth.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 8:52pm, a white BMW collided with the transport truck on Hwy. 10 between Grey County Rd. 40 and Hatten Dr.

The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. Police aren't releasing the person's name until the next of kin have been notified.

The driver of the transport was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Hwy. 10 was closed between Grey County Rd. 40 and Hatten Dr. while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit was at the scene. The road was reopened around 7am on Wednesday.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
