Huron East Man Arrested In London For Theft

A Huron County man is facing criminal charges in London in connection with an OPP search warrant and seizure in the city.

On May 25, OPP officers from the Middlesex detachment, along with members of the Emergency Response Team and Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a property on Westminster Dr. in London.

Two all-terrain vehicles, three trailers, two trucks, and other stolen property were recovered.

As a result of the police investigation, 25-year-old Joey Botelho from Huron East has been charged under the Criminal Code with six counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and two counts of altering-destroying-or-removing a vehicle identification number.

He's scheduled to answer the charges in a London court.
