Driver Seriously Injured In Crash Near Arthur

One person has been rushed to hospital after a two-vehicle crash west of Arthur.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Thursday at around 3:34pm, a westbound red Ford pickup truck was stopped for a school bus on Wellington County Rd. 109, when it was struck from behind by a Volkswagon Jetta.

The driver of the Jetta became trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated.  The driver was then taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are investigating the crash and Wellington County Rd. 109 was closed between Sideroad 12 and Sideroad 15 while officers were at the scene.  The roadway was reopened to traffic around 9:20pm.
