Rabid Bat Confirmed In Paisley Area

Tests have confirmed a bat found in the Paisley area was rabid.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit says this is the first time since 2013 a rabid animal has been identified in the two counties.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Christine Kennedy says people need to remain vigilant against the disease.

Residents are reminded not to feed or touch unknown or wild animals, while being sure to immunize pets and livestock.
