Bluewater School Board Welcomes Rural Education Review

The Bluewater District School Board is encouraged by the province's announcement to look at improving the quality of rural education.

The review will include the pupil accommodation review guidelines, co-operation between school boards, and possible joint-use of school facilities.

Bluewater Director of Education Alana Murray says the board and the public provided feedback to the province at a consultation session in May in Markdale.

“We are encouraged by this week’s news that the province of Ontario is taking steps to address some of the unique challenges facing rural education. As we move forward, we will continue to honour our previous commitment by working closely with our community partners with a renewed sense of optimism that viable solutions can be found to support and strengthen our rural schools,” says Murray.
