Grey County OPP attended a home in Meaford after being called to check on the occupant's wellbeing.
A 46-year-old man was transported to hospital by ambulance for assessment, after police arrived Wednesday just after 6pm.
The OPP has contacted Ontario's Special Investigation Unit, which has taken over the case.
No further information is available at this time.
