Driver Killed In Crash Near Wingham

A man is dead after a single-vehicle rollover crash east of Wingham.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 7:30pm, a small sedan was travelling north on Belmore Line when the driver lost control of the vehicle at Howick-Turnberry Rd. and left the road.  The vehicle struck a culvert, rolled several times and the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was ejected.

Emergency crews responded to the scene after a witness called 911.

The driver was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The man's identity is not being released until next of kin have been notified.

This intersection of Howick-Turnberry Rd. and Belmore Rd. is closed while police conduct an investigation.  Belmore Line at Salem Rd., Howick-Turnberry Rd. at Kieffer Line, Belmore Line at Glenannon Rd. and Howick-Turnberry Road at Forest Line have all been closed as well.
