The President of the Goderich Port Management Corporation says construction on the Harbour expansion is moving along very well and he expects to meet the target for completion of the fall of 2018.
Rowland Howe says crews and their equipment are all in place and materials have started arriving so they've started working on a sheet pile wall that will create the future dock and then the in-fill behind that wall will create the new wharf. Howe says the result will be four acres of new wharf.
Rowland explains the expansion will allow them to diversify the use of the harbour and attract new and different cargoes as well as ship new materials out of the port.
