North Stars Beat James Gang

Colin Mawdsley scored four times and set up four more as the Owen Sound North Stars topped the Ennismore James Gang 13-6 in Senior B Lacrosse.

The North Stars fell behind by a goal in the opening two minutes of the game before back-to-back goals by Riley Thompson put the North Stars ahead just over four minutes in.

Mawdsley's first goal of the game gave the North Stars a 3-2 lead. Ennismore scored at 6:29 and 7:26 of the opening frame to tie the game at 3-3. Brady Heseltine put the North Stars ahead at 13:53 and the team never looked back. Heseltine's goal would stand as the game winner. Mawdsley scored twice more for Owen Sound to end the first period.

The second period belonged to the North Stars. They scored five times and didn't allow a goal to take an 11-3 lead into the third.

Mat MacLeod and Robbie Milnes scored for the North Stars in the third as the team quashed an attempt at a rally by the James Gang.

The two teams are back in action again today at 2 pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore.
