Ontario is supporting adults with developmental disabilities in the Bruce Peninsula.
It's part of a province-wide program that will help promote community-based employment and improve services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Minister of Community and Social Services Dr. Helena Jaczek was at the Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living Tuesday to learn about the agency’s From Connectivity to Inclusion project.
It's one of 38 initiatives that is receiving support through the second phase of Ontario’s Employment and Modernization Fund.
The Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living is receiving over $178,000 for it’s "From Connectivity to Inclusion" project. This funding will help the agency transform its day programming, which will improve services for adults with developmental disabilities in the local community.
"The initiative will have a meaningful impact of the people we serve in ensuring they receive personalized services that promote full inclusion in their communities," says Michele Bell, executive director of the Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living, in a media release.
Minister Jaczek will be in Kincardine Wednesday to make an announcement at the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey.
