Suspicious Fire In Rockwood Thursday Evening

The OPP and the Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire in Rockwood.

The blaze was spotted shortly after 8pm Thursday on Main St. S in Rockwood.

The address is a historic property.  The house on the property was not damaged, but a building that was originally a stable and had been turned into a pool house, was engulfed in flames.  There was no one home at the time.

A witness reports seeing two men break into the gate at the property about 20 minutes before the fire was spotted.

Wellington County OPP are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity near the property to give them a call.  The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been notified.
